IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) researchers develop a global database to mitigate seismic risks in geothermal projects.
This novel tool provides crucial data to predict and mitigate earthquakes induced by the injection of fluids into the subsurface, improving security in obtaining clean energy beneath the Earth's surface.

Las expectativas son de que esta energía pretende representar el 5% del suministro eléctrico mundial en 2050, frente al 0,5% actual, situándose como alternativa real para el autoconsumo puesto que, según dice el Dr Víctor Vilarrasa, “las industrias que funcionan de forma continua las 24 horas al día necesitan una alimentación de energía constante".
