Presenter's Bio:
Víctor Vilarrasa is a distinguished tenured scientist at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and leads the Subsurface Water and Energy in the Ecological Transition (SWEET) Group. A member of the Young Academy of Spain, the Young Academy of Europe, and the Global Young Academy, Víctor is a recipient of the prestigious Starting Grant from the European Research Council (ERC-StG grant). His expertise lies in investigating induced seismicity, and he serves as the coordinator of a Doctoral Network of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions on coupled processes induced by low-carbon geo-energy applications.

After completing his PhD in Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), Víctor pursued postdoctoral fellowships at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). His contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the MIT Award to Innovators under 35.
