Dr. Víctor Vilarrasa will deliver a keynote lecture at the 15th International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation (ICADD15) on 24 of September, 2021.

GEoREST - International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation (ICADD)

The keynote lecture will be entitled "Modeling of fractures with a continuum-based approach for process understanding of induced seismicity" and will present recent developements in modeling fractures for applications such as geothermal energy and geologic carbon storage.

The discontinuum-based numerical methods have been making great progress in not only geo-mechanics and civil engineering but also various research fields for the latest twenty five years. The achievements and experiences related to these methods have been well shared and exchanged in the International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation (ICADD).

The theme of the conference is 'Discontinuum-based numerical approach – theoretical development and applications'. ICADD15 covers all aspects of discontinuum-based numerical methods, from theories to practices, in both engineering and other research fields, such as disaster prevention, earthquake simulation and so on. It aims to exchange ideas and new developments, and to promote practical applications of the numerical simulations in various fields. ICADD15 consists of oral presentations and keynote lectures.
